Prepare to be swept away on a thrilling ride of emotions and intrigue in "The Puck Secret" by GN Wright – a captivating hockey filled bully romance that not only lives up to its promises but also delves into the depths of angst and hidden complexities that leave readers like me hooked from start to finish! This story weaves a tale that is as fun as it is intense, and as tender as it is tumultuous. The roller coaster of emotions and the journey that Nova and Maddie embark upon will leave you gaping. The tension, the secrets, and the slow-burning romance are well crafted, ensuring that you won't be able to put the book down until you've devoured every page.
From the very first line, it's clear that this book is no ordinary romance. It delivers on the bully romance premise with a compelling twist, offering a healthy dose of angst that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The subtle hints of a hidden love triangle add an extra layer of suspense. As you journey through the pages, the reason I call this a “hidden” love triangle will make sense, leaving you aching for Maddie and Nova.
The setting of a college campus provides the PERFECT backdrop for the story to unfold. The vibrant atmosphere of college life lends authenticity to the narrative, enhancing the reader's immersion into the characters' world. The camaraderie among the hockey players creates a relatable and endearing friend group that brings a lighthearted touch to the overall tone. Their genuine, silly, and crazy interactions mirror the fond memories many readers hold of their own college friendships.
Maddie’s brother, Josh, proves to be an unexpected and delightful addition to the story. Despite my reservations about the best friends' brother trope, his character is so well-crafted and wonderful that I can't help but be drawn to his story to the point where I will throw my reservations out the window for his book.
The heart of the tale revolves around the enigmatic and electric relationship between Nova Darkmore and Madeliene (Maddie) Peters. Their palpable tension and back-and-forth dialogue create such a fun dynamic. Both characters are strong-willed and determined, refusing to give in to external pressures but will give into the each other's advances. Their entanglement in a web of conflicting emotions and desires serves as the driving force behind the story's addictive quality!
Overall, "The Puck Secret" is a bully romance that exceeded my expectations. From the immersive college environment to the realistic (for the most part) friendships and the electric chemistry between Nova and Maddie, every element comes together to create an unforgettable experience. This is a book that demands to be devoured and savored, prompting me to rush and order the paperback version the moment I turned the final Kindle page. GN Wright has delivered a gem that is sure to leave a lasting impression on the hearts of darker - but not too dark - romance enthusiasts everywhere.

I just can’t even with this book why is his name nova?? Couldn’t get over that and couldn’t stop thinking about a supernova and then I kept replaying the song super massive black hole in my head and then I was thinking about the twilight movie??? Anyways just weird vibe with the dad being the mayor and her getting engaged against her will and having literal bodyguards as a college student like none of this made sense in my mind. Wasn’t the book for me!
Nice to take a break from heavy intense book series sometimes a read a cute lil sport romance. Super easy light hearted read and read it in one sitting.
it was ok. the plot was kind of boring and the mcs were ok too….
This book was awful. I am grateful to have read it so I know what I do not like in spice. Ugh.
If I hear the word Princess ever again… I will throw my kindle out the window.

This was an excellent read. Loved all of the character dynamics. I also appreciated the non- formulaic feel of this novel, there were a few things I did not see coming, which I love! I cannot wait to read Josh and Hallie’s story.
i wanted to finish this so fast for it to be over pq at times it was so predictable y bland. La main character empezó siendo una bad bitch peliandole al pai y después dejó de peliarle y iba a dejar q la casara con un cabron ahí?
Action so hot it melts the ice
Fantastic hockey romance, love this trope, also enemies to lovers, a great story all round.
Nova and Maddie definitely hate each other, past family issues playing a major part. So many feelings in this story, you can almost feel the tension between Maddie and her parents at family meals.
Nova and Maddie are so hot together and can’t resist that magnetic attraction as much as they try. Some seriously spicy scenes here.
Really enjoyed this book.
