Maybe if I read the book with my eyes, I'd like it more? I don't know... Probably not. I didn't like any of the characters. Not a single one. The audiobook narrator didn't help because she made all of them sound so bratty.
My biggest book pet peeve are bratty teenagers and this book had multiple. There was a twist I didn't see coming so I give this book props for that. The story did keep me reading because I was curious to see how it would end. Not a huge fan of the ending though.

This book was REALLY amazing, except for it’s end. Well, it’s ending sort of makes it up, but not fully. The plot twist was VERY unexpected, the first of the three that are in this book. It was truly shocking. The other two were shocking, but not as much as the first.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
First of all, Ned being revealed as Luke’s true killer. Woah. I was open-mouthed and spluttering while reading this. It took me a minute to fully comprehend this. This made me dislike him, due to him letting Rachel suffer with the guilt for 20 years.
Second, the fact that Lucas was the murderer. That was unexpected, but not quite as shocking to me compared to the Ned-Gaston-killed-Luke thing. I understand it however, his motives definitely make sense. Or at least they did, which goes into my third point.
Lucas was actually Ned’s son? Lila was screwing around with Ned (RACHEL’S DAD) AND Luke (y’know, Rachel’s half brother). I thought the story could have ended without all this business with Lila. I didn’t like Lila at ALL in this whole book (she was so obsessed with the reunion, despite the fact that Violet and Anessa had just died), and this made me hate her more. This made me a bit disappointed, as I was fine with the ending being after Lucas died. This ending did get a few points back in my book, and it’ll get more if a sequel is made, seeing that this ending set up perfectly for a sequel. If there is a sequel, I think the ending won’t seem as unnecessary, and will be better and make more sense to me.
Next, Cade and Rachel. They should have properly gotten back together. It was obvious that they stilled lived each other, seeing as they were pining after each other for 80% of the book.
I enjoyed the kills, all of them were grotesquely described and executed, and I loved that. I liked the chapter length. As a person who HATES long chapters (looking at you Harry Potter :/) this was nice, as none exceeded 17 pages.
Overall this was a wonderful read, and though I have my gripes, it’ll go down as a definite favorite. I appreciate that I took up this recommendation from my friend, as it was completely worth it.

I liked this book a lot!
I found the plot to be really interesting, and I enjoyed all of the characters and their development throughout. It did move a little slow at parts, but overall it kept me interested.
I was surprised by who the killer turned out to be (which doesn't always happen) but then the little twist at the very end kind of grossed me out haha. So took off a few points for that.
I would definitely recommend this to others, though probably wouldn't reread.

Girl who’s blamed for her step brothers death, 20 years later murdered begin in the town connected to the night her brother Luke died. Unexpected plot twist. Fine read and nothing groundbreaking. Took me a while to get through because I was never really interested.
I had guessed several parts of this mystery throughout reading the book, and didn’t appreciate all the profanity.
I just finished Paranoid by Lisa Jackson! This was my first novel by Lisa Jackson. It was recommended to me by another book loving friend who also loves a good thriller.
Paranoid was a novel focused on the death of a teenage boy. The people in the small town believe that the sister of the boy, Rachel, got away with his murder that night. Twenty years later, Rachel still is unsure what happened that night and how her brother ended up dead. Rachel is still having dreams about the night her brother died and questions her involvement in the event. Rachel now has her own family with two teenagers who are getting into their own trouble. She has to juggle her teenagers problems and the problems of the past that are resurfacing. The people who live in this small town have so many skeletons in their closets just waiting to come out!
I really enjoyed this novel! It was a slow start for me and it took a while to pick up and get interesting, but once it did it was a wild ride. There were so many unexpected twists and turns that surprised me. Compared to other thrillers, this book had a fantastic ending. Many I have read lately have been great stories but the endings were super disappointing. Paranoid had a great ending! The events were wrapped up neatly while still leaving room for another book if she wanted to continue the story. As a thriller, Paranoid was not predictable for me. The main twist in this book was the who-done-it twist. I had no clue! I suspected several different people but none of these suspects were correct! I was shocked by who it actually was which made me love this even more. If you enjoy a good thriller, I recommend putting this one on your TBR!
