*cries* this is so good you guys. I can't wait to get into more of this series. Getting to know more about Bayer and Alex was so great and I guess I've finally become okay with the baby plot since I have one bc I loved this entire book to bits. Full review to come❤️❤️

Agitation to lovers, fake dating/bodyguard situation, with one bed, you can’t go wrong with this one. Eric Bayer may be one of my favorite characters ever. This is so good!
Maybe I shouldn't have read some previous series to really be invested in this? It was alright, I didn't go crazy over it, it took a while to get into it and then it took a while to finish, I was more interested in the security aspect instead if the romance or the characters.

I have liked and rated quite highly the books I have read by this author in the past but I failed to connect with this one. Maybe I am just too tired of secret mental undressing of each other and endless mental lusting from the moment the characters are in the scene together. Then there's loads of quite frankly unnecessary relationship drama in the second half and I just went yaaawwwn.
Writing is still quite high quality though so if the instalust and there's-only-one-bed and commitment issues and drama are your jam, you'd probably enjoy the hell out of it.

I wrote a massively long review of this book and right before I entered it, my cat walked across my iPad and deleted the whole copy. She’s not even sorry.
Second try will be shorter.
Eric was funny in an understated way. I found his character to be really refreshing. Likewise, having Alex be the one running a big business empire instead of an alpha male was welcome.
There’s a larger arching story about possible sabotage and nefarious business practices that is not resolved by the end of this book. I look forward to Eric’s brother’s story with Max Bayer and the short but mighty Scout. I’m on to reading LOVERBOY next however to see what Gunnar turns up in his adventures as the second in command of Eric’s brother’s company.

Enjoyed this but not as much as the previous. 3.5 stars
DNF at 50% I’m ambivalent and just not in the mood for this!
