I enjoyed the mixed media format. I’d recommend listening to the audio along with the physical/ebook since it has a full cast of narrators.

Some parts of the plot seemed a bit… preposterous in my opinion, and I had to suspend my disbelief for a few things.

Overall the book was decent.

The plot is all people sitting around talking, but nonetheless captivating.

This was a little disapppinting in my opinion.
The format is interesting but unfortunately does nothing for the characters.
I felt no connection to any of them and there were so many characters with such similar voices that I couldn't have distinguished them if it hadn't been specified who was talking.
Which is a shame because I think that the group did have some potential.

As for the plot, it did keep me engaged and especially the first twist was really unexpected.
After that big reveal everything started to fall apart.
So much information gets revealed about the characters' involvement in the crime and the family that it became rather absurd at times. And in the end none of it actually matters and that left me pretty dumbfounded to be honest.
Also the fact that one guy alone with no expertise in the field could unearth all this information seemed a bit ridiculous to me.
There are so many loose ends and open questions (like what was Bill doing in London when he was supposed to be at that conference?).
All of these alleged experts behave like amateurs just for the sake of the plot.
And somehow all of them are doing the same things despite their wildly different professions. Like why is a forensics guy or a psychologist investigating the crime in the exact same way that an actual investigator would? I would've hoped for more distinctive insides on their different opinions regarding their special field.

It had a strong start but towards the end i kinda hate most of the characters. The producer, the assistant, the other expert witnesses. The drama was really drama-ing. Like very telenovela. The way that almost everyone had a past with the howards or somehow connected. Seems too ridiculous. And 2 of the characters dating when one is 15 and the other was 21 was seriously gross. And then the cheating thing too. And no repercusion for the producer for the unethical reveals making the show like the kardashion just for ratings. I mean i get that the author wants drama and she got it and nailed it. The way inwas emotionally invested. It was makjang.

Mind blown! First book written in this format and by this author for me. Have been on a fantasy kick recently and fancied a palette Cleanser and brought this book purely because of the online hype.

And Jesus wept I’m glad I did! Love the way it was written, I am a fast skim reader so it being written like a tv dialogue fit my reading style perfectly, so much so I completed it in a day!

I love a good who dun it book and this did not disappoint! With the news articles, texts, emails and voicemails being scattered between ‘episodes’ means you are constantly getting information. There are more twists and turns in this book than a maze and so many revelations it blew my mind!

I had no chance of figuring out the ending. I suspected everyone at some point! Such a great concept. I will now be hunting for more of the authors books because to be able to come up with this concept, with so many time lines criss crossing, well let’s just say she is a bloody mastermind and I am blown away!!
