This is more of a recorded interview than a book; the audiobook had her answer a series of questions about her lyrics and life interwoven with clips of the songs. I would recommend listening to it rather than reading.

What a delight this was!!! Like a little afternoon chat with Dolly about her life through her songs!!! My only complaint is I wanted more!!!

Seriously though, it was nice hearing how she came up with her work. I hadn’t really realized just how prolific she is and how many of the outlaw country greats she wrote for or had relationships with. She talks about why she started her reading program, and that was very touching. She also tells a story about the first time she heard Whitney singing I Will Always Love You, and it gave me goose bumps.
She’s an incredible person who seems wholesome, and sweet, but she doesn’t shy away from talking about sex or drugs or hardship. It was a great listen.

Just lovely! An interview with a great. I need to get my hands on a physical copy so I can see all the pictures. I loved listening to Dolly's voice. It was a great beginning and ending to my work day. I've already recommended this to my audiobook buddies.
