I enjoyed this book, but I felt that somethings were slightly disjointed, and therefore the book as a whole lacked flow for me.
I listened to the audio and I'm glad I did. However, I could've done with out the literal screaming that is littered throughout the book. Not a pleasant experience.
I enjoyed looking through my physical copy at the pictures that Drew chose to share. I feel that they did add to the story.
I am glad that I finally read this!

I love Drew Barrymore and am fascinated by her life, which is why I wanted to read this book. However, though I enjoyed some of her stories, the writing was distractingly juvenile. VERY juvenile. And a lot of the chapters had no benefit to the reader. Was it super cute that she wrote chapter-long letters to her daughters? Yes, but it’s cute for them when they’re older, it doesn’t mean much of anything to me as a reader. The subject matter and writing style made this one a hard one to get through.

I liked this book, but I think I would have enjoyed it more had it been in chronological order. Since it was jumping around to stories in her life, it was hard to tell when the story was happening and if something that was told/that she learned earlier had happened already.
I think listening to Drew read it herself gave it much more of a spark and extra flare that made it more enjoyable than if I were to read it.

She seems like a lovely person who is also pretty clueless about systemic oppression. I don't blame her, considering her upbringing and the challenges she's had to overcome, but she just reads as someone who is nice but not very aware.

I think she is fascinating, but this was not scandalous enough. I don't care how she parents or what kind of plants grew outside her childhood home. Tell me about the drugs!!
