Okay enough. It felt lacking at times.

Damn! This book was spicier than the others I’ve read by Tessa. Wasn’t a bad thing though lol! Sarg loving Jaz for as long as he did was super cute.

I loved this book!!! Sarge was the quintessential Tessa Bailey hero...the guy who knows what he wants and goes after it! I'm not usually a fan of big age gaps in my romances, but found that I really enjoyed this older woman/younger man trope. For me, Sarge came across as very mature, very confident in who we was and what he wanted out of life, and so he seemed so much older than his actual age. Jasmine, despite being the "older woman", was the complete opposite. She hasn't yet found her place in life, definitely lacks the confidence to feel secure in her choices, and comes across as much mor emotionally immature. I think it was this dynamic that made the older woman/younger man trope okay for me. Had Sarge come off as the emotionally immature one, it just wouldn't have worked.
All this being said, if you're a Tessa Bailey fan, this book is going to rock your world. Lots of angst, lots of anticipation, some seriously hot dirty talking (totally had me blushing!), and a cast of characters that make you wish you were part of their group in real life, all add up to a highly satisfying read! I can't wait to see what Tessa Bailey has in store for us with the rest of the series!

Tessa Bailey did a great job writing Sarge as an alpha males who is hot, controlling but not too much, dirty talking, protective and driven. The sex scenes between Sarge and Jasmine were spicy.

The plot device of his sister, River, not letting him stay in her house because she didn't want her daughter to get confused at a man staying there who was just going to leave was REALLY weak. Also, River working two jobs even though her successful, rich brother sent her money every month, was so unbelievable. No mother who likes her child chooses to work two jobs instead of spending time with her kid.

I had no problem with Jasmine not wanting to get involved with Sarge since she was almost 30 and he was 22. That's a fairly big age difference at that age. What I didn't like was once she decided she wanted Sarge she still let the fact that other people would judge her get in the way of what she wanted.

I really liked this book at first. I like how quickly it jumped into the spice. But I think towards the end I wasn't a huge fan of how obsessed he was with her. Normally it wouldn't bother me but this just felt a bit overkill but that's just me. Overall it was a good book.
