Ich fand es gut. And manchen Stellen war es ein bisschen lang, aber diese waren relativ selten. Allgemein hat die Story sich ganz gut fortbewegt und auch das Ende war sehr unerwartet.

i was on a real crime-kick, reading lots of mystery/detective novels, and so i was excited for this concept…, the writing was just so dull and plain that i found myself annoyed all the time and couldn’t get into the story, dnf @ 12%

There is this guy called Jelle and it’s really late so my brain starts playing the song Jell-o by Ariel Pink. Kill me?

Apparently they turned this shit into a tv show. May be out, may not. I don’t fucking care. If you like cime/mystery shows look it up I guess. The book was ok. I’m not going to continue the series tho *I came to the conclusion that I don’t really like reading crime books*.
The thing with me and crime/mystery books is that I’m lazy and sometimes I read like 50pages and then I stop reading and I pick it up again after like a month. Sometimes I forget most of the things that happened so I don’t bother trying to solve the mystery. Kinda makes the experience less fun. This is what happened with this almost 500pages book that has too many POVs 😃.

Deocamdată marea era la reflux.
Luna plină făcuse marea şovăitoare să se retragă cu multe ore în urmă, expunând o fâşie lată de nisip umed. Crabi mici şi lucioşi mişunau pe nisip, sclipind în lumina albastră ca oţelul. Melcii turtiţi se agăţau cu deosebită forţă de stânci, aşteptând răbdători. Toate vieţuitoarele de pe ţărm ştiau că fluxul avea să le acopere din nou.
Trei siluete de pe plajă ştiau şi ele asta. Ştiau chiar cu exactitate când avea să se întâmple – peste un sfert de oră. Atunci primele valuri blânde aveau să se rostogolească şi să umezească zonele care se uscaseră, iar curând presiunea huruitului întunecat din larg avea să împingă val după val, până când inundaţia produsă de maree atingea punctul maxim.
O maree înaltă. Adică plaja urma să fie acoperită de apă adâncă de cincizeci de centimetri.
Dar încă mai aveau puţin timp. Groapa pe care o săpau era aproape gata. Mergea drept în pământ, preţ de aproape o sută cincizeci de centimetri, cu un diametru de vreo şaizeci. Un trup încăpea acolo perfect. Numai capul avea să iasă la suprafaţă.
Capul celei de-a patra siluete.
Capul unei femei care stătea la o oarecare distanţă, destul de liniştită, cu mâinile legate.
Părul ei lung şi închis la culoare flutura delicat în adierea intermitentă, trupul gol strălucea, chipul îi era estompat în lipsa machiajului. Ochii dezvăluiau o absenţă stranie. Se uita la cei ce săpau mai încolo pe ţărm. Bărbatul cu cazmaua trase lama curbată din groapă, răsturnă ultima grămăjoară de nisip peste mormanul de lângă el şi se întoarse.
Terminase.

Jag plockade upp den för att den handlade om Koster och förväntade mig lite mer Koster i den. Men de sista två tredjedelarna av boken lästes ut på två sena nätter när jag borde gått och lagt mig. När trådarna började vävas samman och tempot ökade.

fantastisch, zo spannend en complex. heb ook vazal gelachen om de heerlijk droge stijl van de schrijvers. aanrader! (staat deze zomer in de gratis zomerbieb app!)
