It was good, very spicy and a quick read. Literally read it in one day, laughed with the characters, got sad with the characters. Lots of spicy, I'm not sure if I'll be reading the sequel though.

I enjoyed this! It was a cute little story and I appreciate the respect given to the adult film community. I’m sure there’s a real life Blackhat that still operates today with no consequences, unfortunately.
As for the romance aspect, I enjoyed that, too. However, I had one big problem. The book definitely insinuates that both Josh and Clara are in the wrong during their big fight, but I think it’s entirely Clara’s fault. She came up with Shameless, she decided to fund it. It’s her fault that she wasn’t prepared for the reality that her involvement could be leaked. And for her to come home and ask Josh if he leaked it? After telling Toni she didn’t know who he was just the other day? Clara fucked up big time. I do think she made up for it, but I resented the book not emphasizing how wrong she was for treating Josh like that.

This book said, "I'm gonna be a smutty Hallmark movie" and held to that level of plot and character development. I didn't find the MCs 100% believable, and they changed their minds so quickly it gave me whiplash. Because of the surface-level development, I wasn't sold on their attraction (sex worker that is now disgusted at the thought of touching other women? Trust-fund socialite that immediately forgets about her lifelong flame?).That being said, the male MC is genuinely sweet, caring, and consent-focused.
There was a lot of bizarrely intro-level sex-positive feminism, including some sections that read as ignorantly anti-kink. Don't go here for nuanced discussions about sex, gender, or class. I don't want to yuck somebody's development, though. This COULD be a good intro for people trying to reckon with negative assumptions about sex work, female pleasure, and porn. I wouldn't recommend it for folks who have done deeper work around sex positivity.
This was a good brain break, and some of the writing was really nice and occasionally funny, but you get what you see (or less?).
