felt like the end was rushed a bit but still loved this!! so cute

I fell in love with the cover, it’s beautiful, I was just hoping for more. The story has more potential than it was given. All in all, it was ok.

Alexa Martin has written a funny, sexy, and fresh novel about love and reading. Drew is a compelling lead character and I loved getting to know her friends. The Book Nook sounds like a reader’s nirvana

Forever wishing we could use half stars on Goodreads. I give it a 3.5 :)

The celebrity/bookshop owner trope was delightfully reminiscent of Notting Hill. I enjoyed Drew's character and the experience of seeing her process her grief and reexamine her life and relationships.

However, I can't get over how one-dimensional her love interest, Jasper, was. (I just had to pause for several seconds to try to remember his name, and I just finished the book 2 minutes ago, so that's pretty telling.) He had 0 character development and, I'm sorry, but I'm supposed to believe that a romance author who looks like "a superhero" doesn't already have a partner or three? I couldn't root for their love because he didn't have anything to overcome. He was just...there...being the perfect boyfriend at all times.

a surprise and random pick and i really liked it. i love the concept of a bookstore owner who hates reading and male romance author. i love the deal they made, but i do wish there was a little more romance. i liked the storyline with her grandma, and daisy and elsie, but this felt more fiction to me, which is okay, just not really what i wanted. but really really loved the vibes.

Started this as a audiobook so it took me longer to finish. I feel like we learned absolutely nothing about Jasper or his backstory which made it very hard to be invested in the love story for me. Like im sure Drew did ask him questions about his life but I would’ve liked to see it. It felt more like even the book knew this was a romance so they naturally were going to be super in love instead of showing us why. Also would’ve loved more investigation from drew as to how jasper writes such a female driven genre and how he approaches his female protagonists.

Also the watermelon sugar comment was so cringe. But then almost all their banter was so you kinda just had to get on board with it.
