While the art is nice, this is far too short to actually get anywhere with the plot. The art is reminiscent of something else I've read, but I can't place it, and the colours are vibrant and fitting to the setting. Unfortunately, though, you can't get much of a feel for the characters with the length, and although it is part of a series, this feels entirely like setup instead of an actual volume. The characters are also really fun, though, so maybe there'll be more to it with more volumes? 100 pages is difficult to do much with, unfortunately, when it comes to a graphic novel, and I'd like to see more.
Fun, although, like a lot of series graphic novels for kids, there's hardly anything to it before it's time for the next volume.
Book one in a series about a boy who has discovered the power of SASQUATCH and in doing so has messed up the balance of the forest.
The ending is definitely a cliff hanger and I'll be waiting for book 2!

Bigfoot is so hot.
Srsly.
I took this out to the elementary schools as part of my summer reading lineup this year, and those chillens got SUPER excited when I just barely STARTED talking about a strange creature covered in fur which may or may not live in the woods. It's kind of amazing to me, actually, that there aren't more upper elementary chapter books or comic books about this awesome cryptozoological phenom.
This is an awesome fictional full color comic book starting the adventures of a kid who finds a thing which may or may not give him a Bigfoot-related supernatural quality, and makes friends with a talking squirrel. Oh yeah, and the girl next door. It barely even sets the world up, so I'm SUPER excited that the series will have at least one more book soon.
Hicks illustration work is spot-on as always and it seems that she did her own totally great color work. Thanks to Kids Can press for giving it a nice hardback cover - the copies at my library are already getting a work-out!

A sweet fun story by one of my favourite creators. I’m excited to continue.

Very cute story. The art was wonderful; it highlighted all of the things I love about the woods - how they're dark, cool and shadowy even when it's sunny, how slants of light fall between the trees, the mushrooms and ferns etc.
The 'villain' felt a little weak and forced, as well as the conflict. But I really enjoyed Rufus and his 'skunk' friend Penny.
Definitely a story for a younger audience - maybe 3rd-6th grade; but a nice little 'getaway' book if you're stuck at work and feeling nostalgic about summer camp and romps in the woods and the mysterious feeling they have.

I heard the author talk about it and thought I would give it a try...it was very cute.
Hilarious, cute, fun to read. This may be my favorite from j torres and also my favorite from feh.
It was cute. I liked the art and the colours were very kid-comic-like.
I am only giving it 3 stars, because this volume was just an introduction. I can't tell what this is going to become yet to give it more.
I did like the idea of a squirrel companion/guide.
