This was a very enjoyable book. I really liked the concept of the bed's adventure; it was an unusual take. The illustrations were brilliantly colored and extremely playful in nature. Though the pictures were somewhat peculiar, they did not detract from the story. The unexpected ending with the carpenter, the mother, and the ongoing gifting was utterly charming.

really this book should just be called "the bed". the pirate only makes a brief appearance. I can appreciate what the author is doing here, but it's not one of my faves

A little too much for the kiddos I read it to but they laughed in the right spaces. They were excited about the smile and the eyes on the bed.

This was a cute story about furniture. I even liked the illustrations. It was a different take on a pirate story, and it was very enjoyable.
