This book has some great moments and I enjoyed it enough to keep on going with the series at some point but I also did not like it.

The closest he comes to characterisation is the misspelling of words during dialogue to suggest an accent (but even that isn’t consistent). His idea of a story seems to be throwing together a bunch of mismatched ideas that don’t mesh well together and spending dozens of pages leading up to ideas that completely lack a satisfying pay off.

It’s the kind of writing that would have enthralled me as a child but this is no children’s book.

Let me start by saying this book took me 5 months to read... That is because I think the first half moves really slow. King is really good at adding filler to bring more depth to the characters but in this case I found it to be unnecessary. That being said the ending was great! It was super fast paced and I really enjoyed the character interactions also it made me rethink my thoughts on Jake's character so that's a plus. Overall i'm back into this series and can't wait to start the 4th book!!
