This book left me feeling spooked and unsettled. I throughly enjoyed this book, just make sure you take a look at the trigger warnings.

Why does this feel like a Mash up of the movie get out and the short story the yellow wallpaper ? Anyways this is one of the few books I've read where i actually was more interested in the romance then the plot , Francis is a lil bean that must be protected at all costs.

This was fine. I can get a bit bored with genre novels sometimes because it feels like you're just waiting for the plot to play out. There were some interesting elements here, including the Mexican setting and the HP Lovecraft/eugenics inspiration.

It started a bit slow but boy did it pick up! Like a combination of Get Out and Crimson Peak this book was so creepy so emotional so suspenseful and so moving. By the end I had fallen in love with it.
