Maybe more of a 3.5. While it is interesting to see Jonah out of his own time, I prefer him in the past when he belongs. His opinions of modern culture was about what one would expect. Not sure where this is going to go.

This collects All-Star Western 22-29. Gray and Palmiotti supply the story and the art shores are shared by Moritat, Staz Johnson, and Jeff Johnson.

So I have to eat some crow on this one. While I was not a fan of Jonah Hex in 19th century Gotham, turns out Jonah Hex in the modern world is fantastic. With a new girlfriend named Gina Green in tow, Hex goes on the run, meets some DC characters and has entertaining interactions with them, and ultimately winds up back where he needs to be. I'm avoiding spoiling things because I'm very glad I knew next to nothing about this going in. 4.5 out of 5, most fun All Star Western volume yet. One more to go.

Jonah Hex being brought to modern day Gotham writes itself, and it's just as fun as you'd think.

I really enjoyed this volume of Johna Hex's journey! I thought it'd be too hokey but traveling around on a motorcycle, passing through the Burning Man festival, meeting several other super-heroes along the way (Swamp Thing, Constantine, Superman); this was just a really fun read. I can see people getting annoyed at how it ends, but the ending didn't bother me. I'm interested in seeing how that change affects Hex's future.

3 stars for the writing, but the art is simply abysmal
