"Or maybe it's about the wonderful things that may happen if you break the ropes that are holding you."

I'm slightly obsessed with Mary Oliver, the way she writes, her fascination with nature, her love for old dead writers.

Some essays are short & sweet. Some are longer and interesting, some I'll have to revisit at a later time as I haven't read Emerson or Poe to truly enjoy her perspective. Thoroughly enjoyed this read, as I knew I would.

I love Mary Oliver. Earlier this year I read Devotions a 500 pg collection of her poetry and I felt like I just absorbed it into my soul and psyche instead of simply reading it. I don't love poetry, at all generally, but there was just something about her style and subject that just called to me. This essay collection was great. There were one or two that weren't really for me, but in general these essays were as lovely as her poetry. Highly recommend. Sorry if I got too woo-hoo there :)
