This was STRESSFUL and I am left happy and sad but mainly sad. That doesn't mean I didn't love reading this book, I was just stressed the entire time.

Deliscious. Kate is a little more girl than warrior in this one and I'm sorry if this upsets you oh readers. Life moves and we grow and with luck we learn to let our guard down and trust. There is always a risk when we trust others but For people like Kate who live with residual trauma that trust is harder to give and so much scarier.

Good book. Should have been longer and never had ended.

Urban fantasy is like a TV show, occasionally there are main storyline plot developments, but most of the time it's just one adventure/mystery with a lot of dialog. It so happens that this episode is not something I really care about. The main story is advanced a little but I actually came out of it less interested than I was going in. As with most UF once the characters and relationships are established not much really happens. It turns into just one long stream of banter and I've yet to meet a series that doesn't follow that pattern. So this series is one of the better ones, but it's not as strong as it started out being. I don't mind reading it and parts of it were interesting, I just think my enjoyment won't last much longer. Why four stars then? It's better than most UF out there, the main character is not weak and doesn't get on my nerves, and the magic system and world is interesting. Thinking over my other 3 stars this just feels different, in another class.

Yeahhh!Another good story for Kate Daniels, this one involves her family (old and new) and Hugh, the real bad guy with allure. No pauses, no tricks, a little bit of faith would have been good but ok, every girl has fear to loose her man I think. Can't wait another year for the next book....
