I cannot get enough of this series. Every single instalment is even better than the one before it. I really liked the progression in this instalments. Kate and Curran are now mates and in this book we get to see how that equates to the world outside of Atlanta and the pack. I really loved all the undercurrents in this book and how it keep us the reader off balanced and needing to grip on to our seats as we rode the story to its conclusion.
The world building in this series is amazing and the characters are so vibrant that you can't help but love or hate them as the case may be. Either way they all leave an impression. However the best part of this book was the story. I was thoroughly engrossed and entertained from beginning to end and I am truly excited to get my hands on the next one.

Kate is getting used to being The Consort now. Kinda. But then Julie's best friend starts to go loup. After some tense and heartbreaking chapters, Kate and Curran handpick ten of their people to go with them on an adventure to get some Panacea. Did I say adventure? Trap? Oh yes, bodyguard detail. And we all know how much Kate loves some bodyguard detailing.
Jim stays behind while Mahon, George, Edwardo, Barabas, Ciara, Aunt B, Raphael, Andrea, Derek and Doolittle (I think I'm missing a few) join Curran and Kate on their little treasure hunt.
So much is unpacked in this book. Apart from the pack politics and Mahon finally saying something nice to Kate, we are properly introduced to Hugh. He is insane and I love the villain vibe. They fight, sexual arousal happens... Curran begins to take long strolls on the beach with someone who isn't Kate (but the Beast Lord always has his reasons)... Kate frees a guy in a cage, all the while winged cat shape shifters try to kill them and their body. Kate and Curran's relationship is tested in a way it has never been before and for a while you want to rip Curran's arms off and and beat him with it.
This book took the breath from me, ripped out my heart and stomped all over it. And I loved every single minute of it.

My favorite book of the series, thus far. Loved it all. Things are getting interesting.

This is the best one yet. The tension between Curran and Kate is very palpable. I understand why things happened the way they did but still was mad a Curran for a bit. The big baddies are interesting. I am curious to see how Desandra fairs on her own. There were some big things that went down that I'm not happy about but also some nice ones that could turn into good stuff for the Pack.
Rating: 3-3.5 Stars
It was enjoyable and I don't hate it but the amount of angst, drama and petty misunderstandings had me like this:

I was so MAD AT CURRAN in this book and mad at the choices made by the authors. It started off at a 5 star, I enjoyed the bantering and mismatch crew dynamic with the everyone that was sailing to Europe, but once they got to Europe, most of the crew disappeared and was irrelevant except for Dolittle and Aunt B.
The entire time the plot went nowhere in that castle, there were a few interesting scenes, but overall I just felt frustrated that Curran wasn't communicating with Kate and I'm not even satisfied with the climax and big battle at the end. Literally Kate was looked down upon the entire book when she is the one that ends up whooping ass and solving everyone's problems.

With that being said, I think I need a little break from this series and won't be continuing for a little while. Let's hope the next book makes up for this.

Slow start, but big finish
The beginning of this one did not grab my interest, but after a couple of chapters in, I was hooked. Another outstanding Kate Daniel's novel. The pack is changing and with the new members, it will be interesting to see where it goes.
