Graphic Audio edition is brilliant. I still find Curran's voice jarring, as it's just too growly for me. And early on there's a fair bit of fast paced background music that just doesn't work for me at all, and pulled me out of the story some. But aside from that, I love it. I've no idea how many times I've read this book and series now, but it doesn't get old.

Maybe my favorite of the series? It was the most drama-filled and the one in which I felt the most connected to the main theme. Also, thought she was left in the background for the rest of the series, Desandra was a great character to introduce into the secondary character fold.

I started reading the book but felt the pace wasn't agreeing with me and decided to wait for the audio version. I'm glad I did because much of the plot devices didn't convince me, and I am not sure I would have finished the book otherwise. There is a lot of action, and the plot moves forward, we meet new magical beings and European clans, but the plot felt very fabricated and it put me off.
