Superbly written and pretty much "just the facts, ma'am". Liz presents election-denial claims and January 6th in detail, with research, quotes from those involved and reports in understandable terms. No bashing. I found the book to be gripping from the get-go, so much so that I could not read it before bed. Must read for those who are wont to be informed about what is going on today.

Liz voted with DT over 90% of the time and if she were still in office I'm sure she would vote for all the things that I disagree with Republican's on. She did however have the courage to do the right thing and call out DT for not accepting the results of the 2020 election and was horrified by what happened on Jan 6th. I watched J6 happen live and also watched the hearing so there was not a lot of new information for me. I have to give Liz and Adam Kinzinger credit. They stood up to DT and his sycophants despite knowing they would loose their seats in Congress. Unfortunately the people that need to read this book never will. They will blindly follow DT and believe his lies. This country is in serious trouble and if DT is reelected we can kiss our democracy goodbye.

Every single person voting in the 2024 needs to read this book! The problem is I feel like the only ones who will, already know that DT is a threat to our democracy. Cheney backs everything she has to say with thorough facts. She presents a detailed visual. I almost felt like I was at the Capitol with her that day.
The other side likes to joke about his “mean Tweets.” These people joking do not realize that his comments have caused threats to our leaders and their families! What happened to those election workers is a travesty. How can our country see these things happening when it touts being the greatest?People died on January 6th because of this man. How can anyone cast a vote for him? I understand not agreeing with the left. I get it. But would you rather lose our whole democracy for this man? That is what will happen and I applaud Liz Cheney for standing up to this man and his cult.

Liz and I probably agree on about 20% of substantive policy debates. I think the name "Cheney" still gives me a nasty feeling in my stomach - not from her doing, but from her father's.

That said - she's splendid here. A bit repetitive at times, but I guess you beat the drum until everyone listens. Those who followed the J6 Committee's proceedings probably won't learn much new information about J6 specifically, but they will learn even more than they already knew about how big of rats "leaders" like Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy are.

And, to her credit, if my voting choice was her or an election denier (on either side of the aisle), I'd choose her in a heartbeat. As she notes, we can survive 4 years of policy disagreement. We can't survive if we can't agree on the basics around elections.

It seems to me that if all of Congress were to work together with the same unity of purpose as the J6 Committee did, our country would be far more advanced than we are today.

Alas.

This is a phenomenal account of first hand experience and an amazing time line made from sworn upon evidence found during their investigations. I am a registered democrat that is really more of an independent depending on the issue, In the spirit of my normal political leanings, I would like to say: Liz Cheney is a TRUE American patriot. Not the kind MAGA refers to, those who violently break laws. She’s the type that can be objective and hear the facts of the situation that every American watching J6 saw unfold live. I respect Ms. Cheney’s thoroughness, honesty, bravery, and not being afraid to do the right thing for her Country, despite the effect to her personally. That is a true hero. I hope you would consider entering the judicial branch of our government in your future. It would be a gift to America.

I might not agree with many of Ms. Cheney’s political views, but I greatly admire her leadership, toughness, and dedication to the truth.
