It should have a required read prior to the election. It should have played 24/7 for everyone to hear. I don’t agree with her politically, but she deserves respect and is a patriot.

Well worth reading. I’m on a different political perspective from Liz, but she has shown herself to be a woman of principle and honor. This book is written in such a way that it clearly explains the constitutional law issues without either dumbing it down or requiring a law degree.

I do not agree with her political stance. I do agree with her fear and warning in this book.

This should be a mandatory read for ALL Americans who love our country and want our democracy to survive! We need to heed Liz Cheney's (and many others from the Trump administration) warnings concerning the former president. He should never be in office ever again!!

I never thought I would read a book by Liz Cheney. I can’t say I was a fan of her or )or her dad) but I admired her for standing up for the constitution, even when she knew it would cost her her job. Even if you disagree with her policies and beliefs (which I do), you can’t deny that she believes in the rule of law and that the constitution is what makes democracy work. When senators and representatives are sworn in to office, they swear and oath:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

An oath to the constitution. Not to their party. Not to any man. I believe Liz Cheney upheld her oath. I cannot say that for many others she used to work with.

I recommend the audiobook. She’s clear and calm, her voice never wavers. She lays out the events leading up to January 6th and the investigation after. This is important. The facts matter.

What a brave, thoughtful account of one of the worst moments in US history. What’s sad is that so many people still soak up the nonsense spouted online and by the media rather than basing their beliefs on primary sources and FACTS. It’s not just sad - it’s terrifying. And I’m left wondering what our country will look like six months from now. I hope MANY more of our citizens will do the research, listen to opposing views, and open their hearts and minds to the truth, even when it’s hard.

Informative but depressing because it details that with Trump's reelection we're fucked.
