A scintillating first hand account from both inside the Capitol on January 6 and after to the inner workings of the bipartisan January 6 Committee. I admire Liz Cheney. I do not agree with her politics on almost everything, but we see eye to eye on the Constitution and defending the country from the vagaries of the whims and bends of the times. It is well worth the time.
I don’t agree with Cheneys political stances but this is an historical text. I read on audiobook and it has actual audio footage. Democrats should use alll of this leading up to the election.
I wish every voter would read this book before they vote in the next election. This book was eye opening for me in how right now the leadership in Congress is scary. How local elections matter. How important that we look at our leaders on how honest they are in serving our country for good of all. Not for power for themselves.

She stresses the urgency to understand REALLY what happened, a premeditated event.

I never thought I would stand with Cheney, Liz or her father, Dick, but as this book portrays them they stood up against the tyranny of Donald Trump. Almost unbelievable the horror of Jan. 6th but thankfully we have people (politicians) like Liz, Adam Kinzinger, and a host of other honorable american citizens who stood up to the likes of Donald Trump and his enablers. Great book, a must read and an incredibly interesting, engaging accounting of the Jan. 6 insurrection and it's aftermath.
A very important book to read before the 2024 election. Cheney gives a great history of her family & dad, VP, Dick Cheney. No matter what you feel about her conclusions, she puts her love for America over her party & her own success. She's a brave and admirable woman.
I am not on the same side of the aisle as Liz Cheney....at all. But everyone should read her book. She is a true advocate for our country - the ultimate representation of country over party, seeking the truth and doing her best to influence others to hear and come to terms with the truth.
I may not agree with her politics but everyone should read this book. The audio book was fantastic!
