I don’t agree with any of Liz Cheney’s politics but as someone who is surrounded by Deniers, I respect her for putting what is right above her seat and politics.
I can’t imagine anyone not aware of the dangers of the MAGA cult would consider this a compelling read based on text alone. It’s a Memoir that lacks anything personal, groundbreaking or novel; however, given that it’s authored by Liz Cheney herself, I consider this Memoir a heavyweight in its own right, and believe it to be an important read in the political literature space, and a text that will be studied for years to come, whether or not our republic survives.
I did enjoy her constant (+ deserved) ragging on McCarthy & Johnson, and am left with the utmost respect for Mrs.Cheney as human.

This book is so hugely important. I also highly recommend the audiobook, as the author reads it herself, except where she's citing the speech of others, where she often uses the original audio of that person speaking.
I consider myself reasonably well-informed, but still found parts of Cheney’s book mind-blowing. Worth the read, regardless of political affiliation.
I am not a fan of the conservative policies, so in that respect do not believe that the Republican playbook is what is best for the U.S. However, this book is an incredible documentation of what is so important in our world today. Liz clearly lays out what happened and what the consequences are should the maga supporters and DJT win the election. Her devotion to the Constitution is apparent throughout the book. AND her warnings are must reading for all Americans who value our way of life and our Democracy. It can't be stressed enough.
I am grateful for Liz writing this book and clearly spelling out the issues that are on the table. My only hope is that enough people read this, understand this, and take appropriate action to preserve what we have so carefully built in this country. Already, there are those that are damaging it through their machinations and fecality to DJT, specifically those who are in the far right caucus in the House. This disfunction is damaging; we must take back the rule of law and blunt their impact. Thank you, Liz for fighting for our Constitution and Democracy.

I wonder how the election deniers & Jan 6 forgivers would have spun it had Trump actually led the march to the capitol or had Mike Pence or Nancy Pelosi been rounded up & harmed or executed? This book highlights falsehoods, direct lies, Jan 6, & the cult of personality. Tough read. I appreciate the break down of what led to January 6 and what behind the scenes look like for putting together evidence for the congressional hearing committee.
