If you’re like me and you can’t keep up with the cast of characters when it comes to Jan. 6, and you’re also interested in learning more about how and why we got there, you may enjoy this book. You will have to look past the Reagan worship though. Cheney is a Reagan Republican, and therefore does not believe that she is the problem in how we got here. She takes no responsibility in the fact that she also played a part in the domestic terrorism that took place that day, as her party overlooked a lot to get the cheeto overlord get into the White House in the first place. All that said, I do think the book sums up the events surrounding Jan 6 very well and gives excellent legal analysis of everything that took place. I do appreciate her courage to write this book, even if I think it’s too little too late.

Too dry for me.

Very thorough analysis and perspective of the 2020 election and the fallout leading to January 6th. I appreciate the detailing of a variety of players in this tragedy and the revelation of various political games (only on the Republican side, on which I have conflicting feelings, but it doesn’t change the fact that republicans were complicit in the riot). I also appreciate the words Cheney writes about my father and his integrity in preserving democracy in the United States.

Although I identify as a Democrat, I deeply respect Liz Cheney and her strong moral compass. I listened to audio of all of the January 6th committee hearings so the information was not brand new to me, although the insight to the inner workings and the challenges throughout the investigation were. I wish more politicians, on both the left and the right, were more like Liz Cheney in terms of her willingness to put aside her own desires for the betterment of the country and to honor her oath.

I was never a Liz Cheney fan, but her patriotism and her honor have really impressed me. Every Republican should read this book, especially before this next election!

Far exceeded my expectations for quality of writing. In these difficult political times I have read a number of books by politicians to develop a strong understanding of current events. Some of them unfortunately so poorly written I couldn’t force myself to get past the last chapter.
This book was worth every minute I spent listening to the audiobook. I will purchase the hard copy and go through it again. It’s a must read for anyone voting -ever,

Easy but horrifying read. Even though I closely watched the Select Committee public hearings, I still learned quite a bit from Rep. Cheney’s telling. I didn’t realize how much I had forgotten. So hard to believe nearly 50% of our country is willing to put this man back in office.

Her writing style is clear and straightforward. I did get a little anxious to finish. The book could have benefitted from a little more editing.
