The Julian Chapter

R.J. Palacio

4.1 AVERAGE

When I first read the book [b:Wonder|23302416|Wonder|R.J. Palacio|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1412358842s/23302416.jpg|16319487], I remember my one comment was I wished we had read a chapter from Julian's perspectives.

This is exactly that. Almost the "answer" to Wonder - we see why Julian acted the way he did.

Only we didn't really. I found that the original book was so full of rich dialogue and ideas. It was warm and although some of the characters might have behaved in ways that weren't very nice, you still got a feel for their struggle to be nicer.

Maybe it's because it wasn't in the original book. That Julian didn't have a chapter in that one, but I felt like this was slightly disjointed and not as authentic as the first one. Still an enjoyed, quick read ... it just won't bring you to tears or have you singing its praises from the mountain tops!

A great sequel. This author really captures the essence of kindness and how you should never judge a book by it's cover. Everyone has their struggles and that shapes them.

Que suerte que lo leí, me llevo una hora. Wonder me encanto y esta pequeña historia lo complemento muy bien, fue sorprendente ver las cosas desde el otro lado.

Very much enjoyed reading Julian's perspective, but I was hoping doing so would engender some sympathy for the character. Nooooope. That said, I'm super glad I got to meet Julian's grandmother, who's awesome.

I loved this! When I finished Wonder I wanted to hear Julian's point of view... And here it is!!!

Even though I hated Julian, he was the most annoying character ever, I still loved this extra little chapter. The last 4-5 chapters where my favourite. I can't wait to read the other two small chapters with Christopher and Charlotte.

Akhirnya malah baca buku ini, sedangkan yang dikirimin belum baca, heleh.

Suka banget sama ceritanya. Mau krai bacanya. Makin penasaran mau baca bukunya *nyelem timbunan

1.5 stars

this chapter made me hate julian even more than before. the .5 is for the last 10-ish pages

WOW
okay this book is a must read. in the begining I hated it (wait before I get chopped) because I felt like punching the parents and Julian but then I waited till the end and then I understood where he was coming from (I still hated his parents). I absolutely loved his grandméré and I wish he grew up with her instead.
Anyway I shall leave with my favourite quote ~'be kind to people you don't know the battle they are going through'

It's written so beautifully. Just like seeing another perspective from Augie's story in Wonder especially because Julian is the antagonist one there
