This is a really quick and easy read after reading Wonder. Wonder is so well written and so is the Julian Chapter. I am so glad that Julian was revisited, he definitely needed to be. The way he treated Aug is disgusting and his mother doesn’t encourage him with good behavior but just pandas to him. This is a really good story of growth with Julian. He is such a dislikable character, but through the chain of events, he really blossoms and I think a light bulb goes on and he changes his views and ways. I really enjoyed this, just as much as Wonder. 100% give it a read……after Wonder of course.

It was nice to see the story from Julian's perspective. This short story gave him a chance to not just be a shadow but see how he develops and see his motivation for certain actions.
desde que leí su primer libro amé las obras de R.J.Palacio. esta no fue la excepción . Me emocione muchísimo con la historia de la abuela .
This was really well written and a very good story, but not nearly as realistic as the book. I feel like Palacio gave us all what we wanted - an even nicer, even neater ending than the original. Now everyone is good and improved by their interaction with Auggie and unfortunately that's just not realistic. In the original story, a lot of the blame for how other characters acted was pushed off on Julian. Now Julian tells his tale, and a lot of the blame for his actions got pushed off on his Mom. Now we need a chapter explaining why SHE is the way SHE is - not really of course. I liked the book for how realistic it was even though there was a pretty fairy tale ending. This next installment just takes that a little more over the top. I am glad we hear Julian's side of the story but I feel it just isn't original enough.
This was an unnecessary addition to a wonderfully built crafted story. Wonder made me laugh, cry and just feel good. But this book just made me angry. Bullying is such a mean act, and I was shocked to see how this boy had a reason for every act he did. Of course, this is what happens. Having experienced it first hand, I know, that every bully considers himself to be the hero and justifies his actions. This is wrong. Nevertheless, I was glad that a good ending even to the villain is granted, it gives a positive finish to the entire story.
This is the perfect book to start the school year when Wonder is your students' summer reading.
