2024 Reread Towards Wind and Truth
RAFOO 9/26

An interesting story regarding the Cosmere, however without context some parts aren't so well explained, hope to see more of this world and it's implications in the rest of the Cosmere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Enthralling and effective short story from Sanderson! Being invited by George R.R. Martin to write a piece for an anthology titled “Dangerous Women” would have seemed to include all the cliched pitfalls for any writer, but for Sanderson it was anything but! Here, in only a limited amount of pages he gives us a tale of revenge, motherhood, and risking it all for a better life against the backdrop of a desolate forest planet. It’s equal parts exciting, terrifying, and nail bitingly satisfying! I hope we return to Threnody someday!

Horror isn’t really my thing, but this is juuust within my limits. It’s tense and brutal but so well written that I liked it anyway.

Really interesting stuff here. Just made me want a full length cosmere novel that’s more gritty.

Very slow start, but a great ending. And the story quickly picks up speed. Really liked this one.

Too gruesome for my taste. It's well written and the characters are very intriguing, of course, it's Sanderson after all. But, it's a little too dark for me.
