A Festive Feud

Maren Moore

3.84 AVERAGE

The Pearces and the Worthingtons have been feuding for years over a holiday party. Now that it’s Emma and Jackson’s job to carry on their family duties it only gets worse. As the two are forced to work together the tension becomes more than they can handle. Perhaps they can put all their issues to bed at last.

A fun, quick Christmas read that definitely gives Hallmark after-dark vibes. Even though most of the characters are too stubborn to see past their current situation the tension is actually believable and fun. I hate the miscommunication trope yet somehow Maren Moore made it interesting. Worth the read and minor stress.

Would give this a 2.5. Not bad, just not quite my cup of tea, honestly. If you love Hallmark-style reads, this would be up your alley though!

Two main characters come from feuding small-town families that each throw their own Christmas party. In fighting over decorations, merchandise gets broken and they're forced to plan a party together as the town is tired of the fighting every year. It's predictable and fluffy with some spice sprinkled in.

“Even I can’t deny that the man is unfairly attractive. Even if I want to hit him with my car.”

Maren does it again! Hallmark… but make it spicyyyyy. Another amazing novella to put you in the holiday spirit. You could feel the tension AND the chemistry between Emma Worthington and Jackson Pearce from the start. They tried to fight it, but it didn’t last long. Small-town families who have been enemies for as long as everyone can remember. Jackson is

the feud and what led to their forced joint party was worthy of an eye roll. they screwed a few times, spent one afternoon without arguing and he was taking her home to meet his family. it was mostly just holiday sex if you look past the parts that felt like a cheesy HR video.

Small town, enemies to lovers, banter, miscommunication (thumbs down), family feud and Christmas! It was a sweet, amusing read. Entertaining. I loved the chemistry between Emma and Jackson. It’s giving Hallmark movie but with smut lol

This is my first holiday romance book for this season and I am not disappointed. It was so adorable, funny and the spice was delicious, I couldn’t put the book down. I loved Emma & Jackson’s story and their banter was so darn good.

What to expect…

Hallmark movie but make it spiiicy

A Festive Feud by Maren Moore is the perfect bite sized holiday novella to get you into the spirit of the season!

The Worthington’s and the Pearce’s have been feuding for decades. The Pearce’s were not invited to the annual Worthington Christmas party the year they moved to town and it’s been war ever since with the Pearce’s hosting a rival party every year. Emma Worthington and Jackson Pearce have to learn to out their mutual animosity aside after a tussle lands them in the town jail. If they don’t want to officially be charged as criminals they must work together to plan a joint Christmas party. But the the soon between them soon turns into ~tension~ as they discover that maybe they are better lovers than enemies.

This story was like the perfect holiday hallmark-esque romance with lots of spice! For a novella it really delivered on the spicy bits! The feeling of Christmas shone through in every aspect of this story and I had a fun time reading it. The plot was cute, the characters were interesting and the feud had a satisfying (if not predictable) conclusion.

The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was Jackson’s insistence on calling Emma ‘Emmie’, even after she explicitly asked him not to several times. It was on brand for the animosity but just felt so needlessly disrespectful of him, you know? It left a bad taste in my mouth and I would feel irked whenever I saw him do it.

However, the relationship between Jackson and Emma was so much fun to read! The pair had a perfect enemies to lovers arc in my opinion. They had great chemistry and as the story went on I felt their relationship was believable. I loved how they interacted with each other in the scenes after they start really planning the party together.

If you love a hallmark Christmas movie, enemies to lovers tropes or just love Christmas in general then this novella is for you! Thanks so much to Maren for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

I love smutty books but also I still want it to be a cutesy read with at least a little plot
