My mom told me to keep my mouth shut if I didn’t have anything positive to say, so this is me keeping my mouth shut.

In the town of Strawberry Hollow there’s been a feud for over 30 years that revolves about the town Christmas party or better said “parties”. Both the Worthington and the Pearce families have one and though the parties are as different as the families, they compete to have the better party and the town’s attendance.
This year Emma Worthington and Jackson Pearce are in charge of their respective parties until they end up in jail and the only way to avoid further damages is hosting one party together for the whole town.
AFF is a nice enemies to lovers novella that is a lot of fun to read and has plenty of cute elements. I enjoyed most of it, but I thought it was a little heavy handed on the sexy times for such a short story. Still is a good start for someone looking for some light reading to start their Christmas season reads.

Emma Worthington and Jackson Pearce are enemies – or at least their families are. Years ago, when the Pearce family was new to town, they didn’t feel welcome because of the Worthingtons. From then on, every Christmas, the two families try to outdo each other and host the best Christmas party.

This year, Jackson and Emma are trying to get a Nutcracker for their respective family’s party. A little squabble lands them in jail, sharing a cell. Then they’re told they have to work together on their Christmas parties.

Jackson and Emma are so different from each other. Jackson is very carefree while Emma is very Type A, organized, and responsible. Yet despite their differences and the feud between their families, they can’t help the attraction between them. Nor can they deny the chemistry.

This was such a cute Christmas novella. It really gave off Hallmark vibes, albeit a little less wholesome with those spicy scenes. Jackson was just the sweetest golden retriever MMC. And he was pretty filthy too. I mean…an ugly Christmas sweater. Actually, there were a few scenes with Christmas sweaters, and each brought a different feeling/emotion – HOT, funny, cute. And Jackson’s dogs, Marley and Mo, just upped his swoon factor.

This is a novella, so it was a quick and easy read. I loved it, and I hope Maren writes more books in Strawberry Hollow.

Tropes:
“Enemies” to lovers
Feuding Family
No 3rd Act Breakup
Miscommunication – but it’s not in the traditional way
Christmas/Holiday romance

This was so cute! Their families are enemies. Both put on a huge Christmas party each year in their small town. When an argument occurs between Emma and Jackson over a nutcracker, the town mayor tasks them with working together to plan a joint Christmas party. Emma and Jackson can’t stand each other, but working together allows them to see each other’s true characters.

This was short, sweet, and hot!!

This is for all the girls on Santa's naughty list who wished their Hallmark movies had a dash of spice, and a pinch of tension. Welcome to Hallmark after dark

Okay.. I loved Mistletoe Bet from Maren's holiday novellas, but this one knocked my Christmas socks right the heck off. Wow..I devoured this book in almost one sitting from start to finish. There is just something about how Maren's writes her characters and their stories.

The Pearces and the Worthingtons have bene feuding for thirty years. The small town version of the Capulets and the Montagues. The Hatfield and the McCoys. Jack Frost and Santa Clause. So it doesn't help matter when Jackson and Emma get forced to work together to throw a Christmas party for the entire town.. What could go wrong.... Or right.

Jackson and Emma were everything I love to see in holiday movies. Add in the spice.. and I do mean SPICY.. (Christmas sweater.. IYKYK
