Loved. So. Freaking. Hard.
I laughed. I cried. I hated Apollo. Then I loved him again. Then Lahn was there. And then Frey. And Tor. And holy hell, we had Noc make a cameo too! This is one my favorite series and I really enjoyed how the overarching plot came to a resolution. I also think that the author's message about women and their strength -as well well as the strength of love and forgiveness- was extremely powerful. It truly touched my heart.
I will definitely be re-reading this series in its entirety, soon!
*This book was a self purchase. All opinions are my own.*

But seriously, Viktor and Isis should have their own story like Isis was barely a year old and her first kiss was already stolen by Viktor. omg

July 2022 re-read. Loved this even more the second time around and changed my rating from four stars to five stars.
Loved it.
This is my second favorite story of this book. There were periods where I lost interest while reading through some, in my opinion, unnecessary details, but overall I loved this book and all the characters.

Okay Honey.
I only read this book because the 3rd book teased actual story.
And it was so disappointing and again problematic.
But I figured out a way to enjoy this book series more. I just don't read the words "Honey" and "okay" anymore. Hot scenes are suddenly less cringe, characters don't sound stupid anymore.
And by the Gods I don't understand why every female MC of this series sound the same. Utterly the same. It's not cute, it's annoying. Those are supposedly women in their 30th talking like teenagers. I just don't want to read an "Okay Honey" ever again.
The idea and world building behind this series has so much potential.. and is absolutely destroyed by flat story and annoying character.
Only because a guy is hot doesn't make him being abusive okay. This book kinda touched on that topic, after the unacceptable rape fiasco from the 2nd book. But still how dominant, demanding guys are portrayed is not ok. I don't mind dominant, I mind abusive. It's not sexy and cute, it's abuse.
I am hate reading this series and don't know why I bothered. And I will not touch the last one. The story conclusion of this book left me utterly disappointed. And the sex wasn't even that good, so much teasing about more spicy stuff and nothing happens.

Spoilers ahead. Perhaps it is because I read all four of the books published so far in this series back-back, but the heroines sort of all started to blend together. They all think the underwear of the other realm is kickass. They all have a similar style of thought. I was glad their physical descriptions were all different, so I could at least picture them differently.
I was highly annoyed by a couple of things in Maddie's story. 1. She forgave Apollo way too easily after the verbal abuse he bestowed on her. Having come from a physically abusive relationship, and rebuilding herself, I would have liked to have seen that played out differently. 2. She showed no fear when she was told that Pol was now in the other world as well. For some reason this bothered me, enough that I mention it in my review. 3. Can someone please proofread better? 'Hopped' instead of 'hoped,' oh, there were several others, but now I have forgotten them.
Now, onto what I enjoyed about this story. Maddie's won over Apollo's men on their trip. It made me like her more than I probably otherwise would have. The heroines all unite, which is 'cool' to have all the girls from our world together. Everyone ends up with their happy ever after. And bottom line, the hot, sexy, romance story overcame, by far, the negatives I pointed out. I will be glad to read the next book, and I suspect that I will like seeing how someone from the other world would really respond to ours.

Overall Rating: 4.00
Story Rating: 3.75
Character Rating: 4.25
Audio Rating: 4.50 ( Narrated By Tilly Hooper )
Quick Thoughts: This book surprised me. I am generally not a fan of the twin takes the other one's place (no matter how that ends up happening) but the way this played out really set her up as a different character. I also liked how the kids were handled and that really added to this story in a way that made it very emotionally heart-pulling.
Audio Quick Thoughts: Tilly did really well with this slower paced book and really brought out the characters. I liked the path the book took and Tilly brought the journey to life.

-Re-read 2/6/20. I stand by my original review. This book is by far my least favorite of the series. I still think Apollo is a jackwad(BTW I love that I called him a jackwad and plan on using that all the time) and I also hated the Maddie had to be the one to fix all the issues just because Apollo is prideful.
---------------------------------------------
I liked this one. Not as much as I liked the others but it was still pretty good. I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it's because he has children with Maddie's twin. Maybe it's because I am putting myself in her shoes and I am a jealous little girl and I would have a very hard time knowing how much Apollo loved his wife. And he was a jackwad to her at first. He turned out to be a dreamy man thats for sure and the sex scenes were some of the best of the series but I am not sure I would have been able to get past some of the crap he put her through at first.
The thing I loved most about this book was that the four girls from the other world all got together and got to know each other. I loved how they interacted and how they formed a bond that will last a life time because they know what they are going through. I loved seeing the men together as well. That really is what made the book great for me. I wasn't a huge fan of Apollo and Maddie. I mean I think Maddie was amazing. It takes a freaking STRONG woman to go into a relationship knowing and seeing that a man loved as deeply as he did, so I guess it's not that I don't like them. I just had a hard time putting myself in her shoes. But the rest of the book I LOVED! because I loved seeing the couples together!
