This book was absolutely amazing!
I’d first like to say that I saw someone else on here say they think it’s better for young teenagers and I think I like it so much because if that.
I love how this was written. There were a good few funny parts like on page 124 where Sasha said “this was an A and B conversation so C your way out of it” or on page 178 Avi, said “Oh no we disappointed her to death” when prudence had a panic attack.
I will say she did kind of just get over her PTSD but not without a fight. She faced her fears strongly and her anxiety was addressed nicely throughout the story.
The huge fight and the reveals at the end made everything come together.
I also love how at the end, prudence can proudly show off the scar she couldn’t show off before.
There were a few mistakes in spelling and writing but you can easily get over it
Again, it might just be because I haven’t read many books, but this is a new favorite and definitely going on my shelf.

Prudence Perry is a Ladybird Scout, a secret society tasked with fighting mulligrubs (mulligrubs are drawn to the mortal realm by intense emotions, which they gorge upon before transforming into carnivorous people-eaters...yikes!). This is a fun and campy horror novel but for me, a lot of plot and character development were lost to really long and intricate fight scenes that I sort of zoned out on. Fans of Stranger Things will dig this comedic horror novel. Definitely YA.

What a fun, unique read! The whole time, I envisioned this book as a graphic novel. That would be killer (pun intended)! The characters are relatively well developed and likeable, and the disgusting creatures are well described. Although this is a dystopian read, it wasn’t incredibly difficult to believe, which is great.

I had a great time listening to this ALC and would definitely listen to the follow-up if the author decides to write one. I would recommend this book to any lover of YA fiction and dystopia.

(ALC received from NetGalley in exchange for honest review. Thank you!)

It took me a while to get into this one. (I started reading it two months ago!) It was hard not to compare it to [b:The Babysitters Coven|38856385|The Babysitters Coven (The Babysitters Coven, #1)|Kate Williams|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1549996372l/38856385._SY75_.jpg|60417414] because that was my expectation. Unlike Williams, Anderson struggles with finding the right tone for this book. The author also spends a lot of time in redundant world-building that detracts from the plot and affects the pacing. When I finished it yesterday I was okay with the climax, but I didn't love the ending enough to redeem the first 300 pages or so.

I thank the publisher for an advanced copy of the audiobook. The narrator did a nice job bringing these characters to life.

Overall, another paranormal smash hit from Lily Anderson.

I received an ecopy of this book through Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.
