Absolutely excellent piece on racism and white privilege in America, treads the line between brevity, impact, satire, comedy and dreams much better than David Foster Wallace ever did.

Entertaining, but the end was disappointing. Really liked the characters but the last quarter of the book was mediocre with regards to the plot evolution and significance

A page turner. A murder mystery. A commentary on racism and racial injustice in America, particularly the south. A reckoning on slavery and the four hundred year buildup toward justice. A critique on current political realities. An absurdist comedy. A Great American Novel.

This is the first Percival Everett novel I've read and I cannot wait to read more of his works; this one was simply astounding.

I will be sitting with this one for a long time! Need to digest that ending. This book had me both laughing and crying. Oof.

Incredible. Humorous, well-written, unique premise. Loved the short chapters, length of the book and the diverse characters. One of the best parts of this book is the names PE gave his characters. Reminds me of a season of Fargo.
