I preface this by saying Meagan can do no wrong! She doesnt have it in her to write a bad book, everything she delivers is amazing. With that being said, I did struggle with Promise Me Not but that is ME problem NOT a Meagan problem!
Did I have high hopes for this book? Yes! How could you not after the literal perfection that is Say You Swear. Sadly, FOR ME this did not meet MY high hopes. That is in NO WAY to say this is a bad book — absolutely not, this was still an amazing book and an amazing addition to the Boys of Avix series so far.
Let’s get where I struggled out of the way so I can rave about the amazing parts of this story. I immediately grabbed this book when it was released, but I could not connect with my Kindle version so I decided to listen to the audiobook in hopes that I would love it just the same as I did say you swear, seeing as I’ve listened to that audiobook at least 30 times easily. And yes, I did love it. My problem was I had a hard time connecting with the narrator who voices Peyton for the simple fact of she supposed to be a teenager, and the narrator just sounded like an older woman so it threw me off while listening. There was just something about Peyton that I could not connect with for a good chunk of the book which made it harder for me to connect with the book as a whole but I absolutely LOVE Mason.
OK that aside this was an amazing book. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster obviously, BUT the love that Mason has for not only to Peyton but Little D was beyond what I could’ve imagined for 19-year-old. For me this book definitely gave right person wrong time, obviously she was Mason’s soulmate, but he had to give her the time and the ability to not only grieve, but also allow herself to move on. There were so many moments where I felt like she was going to give in and then she would pull back, it drove me absolutely wild, but I loved it because it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. And when Little D finally walked, and the fact that Mason was the one who got to see it

Technically I’m giving PMN 4.8 stars the only reason for that is the jumping around in the timeline. But that is completely on me for getting confused and having to go back and reread sections.
Anyways Noah, I hate to say it Mason is my favorite guy in the series now. Even though my heart was literally breaking for him throughout the whole book. The way this man was always there for Payton from the time big D (Mason’s words) died. Mason being there for her through literally every moment including the day Deaton was born had me swooning over him.
I understand why Payton tried to push him away, she didn’t want to lose him too but my god watching this man hurt more over being away from Deaton had me tearing up so much. There were times I wanted to slap her for not reaching out to the man that was there but instead called his best friend.
Now I will say by the end of the book I completed respected Chase and Payton’s relationship. But for a whole there I was hesitant about it.
Overall a beautiful story and I’m so glad I didn’t sob as much in this one as I did the first one.

I didn’t hate it. I just wanted girly to STOP RUNNING
After reading reviews I was a bit worried about this one, and while the begging was a bit slow and also felt like we had been thrown right in at the deep end with no context I actually really really liked this book, I wish it was longer tbh and also that we spent more time with them as a couple! Mason is too die forrrr also I saw a lot of reviews talk quite negatively about Payton and I’m not sure why? If anything I was expecting her to be more closed off and there to be more tears shed I think people are forgetting that it had been less then a year since her baby daddy died and she started having feelings for mason that wokld be enough to mess with anyone’s head!!
This wokld have been a 5 star read if there weee a few more tear jerking moments it didn’t feel like there was a big wow this is yapping turning point in the book more of a slow boil tbh
Also “pretty little” makes me vomit lol
Also also, can chase get out of everyone’s business my godddddd my guy read the room
