Promise Me Not is a great sequel to Say You Swear. I did love Mason almost as much as Noah. I knew I would, as I did really like and enjoy his character in SYS, but it was great to get into his head in this book. Payton is such a sweet soul, but she did have a lot of trauma to work through and I am not really sure it was worked through or resolved much. I did enjoy the back and forth from timelines from past to present, but I wish we would've gotten a little more of the present and watch Payton work through the trauma she was dealt at a young age. Mason also had his own issues of attachment that would've been great to see him work through but it was kind of brushed over. I also think we worked through the pregnant Alanna/Alister stuff very quickly, but I know they were not the focus. I am excited to see who we get with miss Cameron in the next book (or I at least hope it is Cam).
This girl probably ran a marathon from how often she ran from confrontation
I could not get into this book or the characters which I hate because I loved the first one so much but I was honestly just bored.

I got 1/3 of the way through and there was very little progression. I didn’t love the back and forth timelines. I know Payton is young but she was super irritating so I had to put it down. I really enjoyed book 1.
3.5 stars
this book fell flat for me. as someone who loved say you swear and constantly thinks about noah, i had high expectations for this book.
i wasn’t a fan of the dual timeline, the chapters set in the past really dragged for me and i found myself skimming them to get to the current pov. so many of payton and mason’s problems would have been solved if they just talked to each other.
overall an ok read.

I didn't like this one as much as Say You Swear. I dont like Mason as the MMC, he is a bit to intense and possessive for my liking. I still enjoyed it though and look forward to next one.
