As someone who adored Say You Swear; (when I say adored I mean I have read that book 4 times, I own 4 copies of it and it lives rent free in my mind) I had been waiting for Promise Me Not to release since finishing book one. So it’s safe to say I had high hopes and I was so excited to read this one.
And I am so sad to say that I didn’t like this book

Disappointing to say the least. Say you swear was my only 5 star read from 2022, so the anticipation for this book was HIGH. I started & finished it the day it was released and the biggest takeaway I have is “what the hell was happening through that entire book”.

This book was so incredibly difficult to follow, the beginning of the book read as if this story was frequently discussed in the previous book. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t. It also seemed like it was leading up to a major trauma that occurred similar to the first one, but it was incredibly anticlimactic.

I gave it a 2 because I love Megan Brandy, and that’s all!

3.5 stars. It was rough. 95 percent through the book until they actually got their shit together… just to have sex was really out of place.

2⭐️( and that feels generous)- I wanted to like this but really didn’t. “Pretty Little” is an awful fucking nickname. Both the mmc and fmc have some serious fucking red flags and I just think they had absolutely no business being together. They both had a lot of growing up to do, especially the fmc. Overall, really wouldn’t recommend this.
