I struggled with this one after Say You Swear. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good book. I just expected more out of it. This story is more of an emotional, grief stricken one with no smut until like 75/80% with the ending feeling rushed. I love, love Mason and Payton (and little D) and hope to hear more about them in future books. Can't wait for the next one. Hopefully poor Chase can have his time to shine 🤣
Graphic: Grief, Death of parent
Moderate: Sexual content, Medical content, Pregnancy, Injury/Injury detail

I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Heartbreaking in the best way. Need more of Mason, Payton and little D’s story which I am sure we will get as the other characters get their books.

This was one angsty read. And I loved every second of it. Just like Say You Swear (book one), you feel all of the emotional gut punches that the characters experience. Meagan Brady knows how to deliver the angst and raw emotions.
I loved how the author handled Payton navigating her grief and guilt. And how steadfast Mason was throughout all of it. (As if he could be anything but. It’s Mason.) And I especially loved how Deaton Sr. was included. That’s not an easy feat, and I thought it was done so well.
*It has to be said that the nickname used in this book is possibly the worst I have ever encountered. I will never understand it. Ignore it.
