This book is definitely a slow burn, and I would rate it 3.5 stars. While I appreciate the storytelling technique that alternates between the past and the present, I found some of the past chapters to be a bit lengthy.
On a positive note, Mason is a wonderfully developed character, and I have really grown to love him throughout the story. My heart goes out to him!
I do wish there was a little bit more of Mason, Payton and baby Denton not just near the end when they got together. The whole book was about their relationship, and we just got the two chapters of them together which wasn’t enough at all.

Mason and Peyton get their chance at love after Peyton loses her first love and father of her baby at a young age. Moving on with so many life changes prove to be extremely difficult even if it’s meant to be.
I don’t agree with other reviews calling Peyton a downer and negative etc. Grief is an absolute beast and grieving the loss of your love and child’s father while so young is even hard to think about. I understand her hesitation and need to protect her child. HOWEVER. I literally could not figure out who the guy was for the first half of the book. It’s been a while since I read book one and I needed some refreshers since this group of young people was introduced in book one and the guys are all super similar. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two that weren’t Noah 😬 I’m still not sure which one this book was about lol. I do want to read the next book and am hoping for a bit more with that one!

Meagan has done it again.
Heart strings were pulled. I loved Payton and Mason's story.
