It took me a while to finish this (a week in Disney World will do that to ya lol) but wow! I'm kind of shocked by how good it was. This was my first Agatha Christie book ever and I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a very slow book for the most part but I was enjoying the writing from the beginning. I kept expecting the mystery to show up and honestly expected it to go in a completely different direction.
SpoilerMore haunted house.
And when it finally did, I was blown away! I devoured the last 50 pages or so at work today lol. So yeah, consider me an Agatha fan!!

I'll give this an extra star for the always good Hugh Fraser narration. On the plus side, it did fool me, I always prefer to not be able to guess the outcome. But it was also sort of creepy and depressing overall.
(about halfway through, I flashed on the fact that I had ages ago seen a movie version of this with Hayley Mills (it was made in 1971). Fortunately I didn't remember anything about the story, just that the "modern" house that the characters build was really ugly)

I can't believe the author of this book is the same person who wrote "And Then There Were None"... This is hands down the worst Agatha Christie mystery I've read so far.
