An unusual but enjoyable Christie effort. I always find that when Christie writes a first person narrative she manages to add something extra to her stories, and Endless Night is a great example of how a murder mystery should be done with a distinct narrator.
I had an inkling who the murderer was but wasn't exactly sure how, and I am impressed that Christie effectively reused an earlier plot from one of her other mystery novels (i won't say which novel as it'll make the killer really obvious) just to test people and see if they noticed. I didn't connect the two plots as being identical at all until someone pointed it out to me soit's a testament to Christir's skill and the enduring nature of murder mystery novels as a whole.
I recommend it as not only a fun puzzle but as a solid thriller for people who don't like her other books very much - it's a more unique novel and one which is quite a challenge to solve.

Worth one’s time. Not Christie’s best though but good enough and unique enough by her standards to warrant reading.
My rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars I would not classify myself as a horror fan. Despite this, I decided to pick up this book after seeing it in a recommendation video.
Though this book is scary and disturbing, I wouldn't go so far as to call it horror. There isn't that much violence in it and what violence there is is thankfully brief. What instead makes this book scary is the sense of foreboding throughout the story. You can tell from the beginning that bad things are going to happen, but you aren't quite sure what bad things are going to happen until they do.
The plot twists at the end completely blindsided me! I can truly say that I never suspected the true culprit, though there were subtle clues, now that I think back on it.
Now that I have read the book, I would like to watch the adaptation of it from the Miss Marple series.

another major bummer of a book to read, good lord. idk why people think this is one of her best. definitely different, but i think we all know just how far to trust her narrators!!
