I think I'm in the minority here and maybe I just wasn't in the right mood, but I did not vibe with this. I thought it was extremely slow, and yes it was clearly leading up to something, but it led us too slowly in my opinion... and the twist was pretty good. I'll say I didn't expect it to be what it was... but then it just kept on and got too weird for me... I dunno. I didn't like it. She writes well as always but I just didn't like it. That can happen.

I get that people can snap... but it just got so disjointed at the end and stopped making sense and I'm sure there's some level of symbolism or poetry that maybe went over my head or that I simply didn't appreciate... but I thought some of the characters were actually more interesting and would have liked more information about them or for there to have been more going on... and there was this air of creepiness the whole time that I didnt feel had enough payoff.. except yeah I guess that came from the narrator being a psychopath and sure that's clever... she's always clever... I just didn't like it. I don't know why I feel bad about not liking it lol. I just really didn't. Maybe I'm just upset.

Às vezes, a história parece não fazer muito sentido, o protagonista se apaixona rápido demais, algumas atitudes soam forçadas, e você começa a questionar as motivações dos personagens. Mas aí chega o final e tudo se encaixa. A sensação de ter sido COMPLETAMENTE enganado o tempo todo é simplesmente genial. A reviravolta muda completamente a perspectiva da narrativa, transformando cada detalhe em algo essencial e que antes não valia de nada. Sem dúvida, o melhor livro da Agatha Christie.

No era lo que esperaba. Más psicológico que un misterio, la muerte no pasa hasta el 70% de la historia y todo se precipita rapidísimo sin mucho ton ni son. Lo mejor son los personajes y lo reales que parecen. El prota me parece interesante, esa perspectiva de no saber lo que quiere y andar dando tumbos por la vida. El final de la historia me flaquea mucho, el culpable tiene un brote psicótico y confiesa todo. Meh.

i didn't know where the story would go, seemed like a very cheap soap opera until mayhaps the last 1/4 of the book. then it got spicy, confusing, and dark-ish. didn't quite expect how cold Mike would be in the end. he's pretty ruthless. bless the mom.
Not impressed. Although I admit Christie surprised me a bit as well in this novel, I wished quite a lot that the narrator was the one dying instead of the victim.
