Slow burn plot with a mindfuck ending. Not extraordinary, but definitely surprising, did not see that coming!
The end reminded me a lot of Crimson Peak vibes, although with the main character here being both the murderer and the one longing for redemption. And there’s not really any happy ending for anyone, of course. Very interesting even if tragic.

It truly felt like Christie was having fun writing this, it's very enjoyable to read something that a writer is proud of.
I had seen the Miss Marple adaptation of this one so I knew what was coming but even while knowing the twist, I was very put off (in a good way that you'd want from a mystery book) when I reached the ending.
The deed takes a longer while than her usual books to occur but that only adds to the suspense and it's a very short book too so it doesn't take really that much time. Overall, I felt that this was a bit easier for me to read than her other ones that I've read but that might be cause it's one of her latest.

What the trash. Jaw dropped on the floor
mysterious slow-paced

I loved this stand alone Christie mystery.   It wasn't until 3/4 of the way through that a body appeared.  Loved it.

It's the sickest one I have read of Agatha Christie.

The plot in the beginning is too slow and somewhat boring. It is as if you were asked or even forced to listen to this ambitious person. I wonder how I could be glued to this narrative.

Things are getting more interesting in the middle part and upsetting (in a good way) in the end. Spiced up with romance, myth and ghost stories, but it's murder anyway.
