this book was way too short to have shifting perspectives. i always thought medusa was unfairly demonized in mythology when she was the actual victim and for what?! being too hot and pretty? like she could help it? but yeah i think this had so much more potential, the writing is up there with madeline miller's circe (which i loved, obvs) but the story was waaay rushed! also i think "medusa" as a title would be more fitting idk where we got athena's child

Interesting retelling of the myth of Medusa that proves how sometimes our perception of so called monsters is inherently influenced by the way their story has been told.
I really like Hannah Lynn’s style, but I feel that this book could have easily been 50 pages longer as at times it feels like it’s jumping ahead very quickly without giving you time to properly explore these characters.

I absolutely loved this. This is the third Medusa retelling I read, and I thought I would be tired of the myth by now. However, this was so fresh that I couldn't put it down even though I know what happens. The writing is exquisite. I cannot wait to read more of her work, she's fantastic.

This gives a lot of depth to the heroes and villains we think we know so well.
