emotional hopeful inspiring fast-paced

Now that I'm used to the writing style, I had a much better experience with this instalment and loved the themes it explored along with all the adorable characters, especially Mia.
emotional funny hopeful inspiring reflective sad tense medium-paced

This is such a powerful book for middle grade children. It addresses immigration policy and racism so, so well. It is age appropriate but still packs a big punch. Love!

I liked this book better than the first. I feel like Kelly Yang has grown as a writer and it felt broader at addressing issues.
hopeful informative fast-paced

One of the most well written books on immigration and what it’s like as an undocumented immigrant. All people should read these books
