عيب عليك إن ظننت أن المنفى يسرق منك الوطن، إنه يسرق الأرض، و التاريخ، و الأحباء، و روحك معهم، و فاقد النفس تائه محتار الإحتلال لم يسرق وطن الكاتب، بل سرق منه شجرة التين، و أصحابه، سرق أُلفة الأهل، و ذكرياته، سرق هويته، و طمسها، و صفق إبتهاجاً على إنتصاره.
إنتصار على جثث هوية زائفة
إنتصار قاهر لأهل الدار
سرق القدس، و الزيتون، و صوت الأطفال صغاراً ف لم يترك لهم ملعب، و لا كرة، و لا حتى كتف أب يحنوا عليهم وقت الحاجة.
سرق من الكاتب مريد البرغوثي وطنه، و تاريخه، و زيفه، و جعله تائه لا يتعرف على وطنه، و لا وطنه يعترف به...

This book is beautifully written. The prose reflects the poetic nature of the author's writing. It's a really great read.

This is a really poetic memoir of sorts, details Barghoti’s return to Palestine after 30 years of exile. 

Politics is not the focus of this story, but through his musings and observations the reality of occupation and diaspora become clear. I am glad to have read much on Palestine before this so the context made even more sense to me, but it is not essential to do so to enjoy is and be moved by this work.

أول تجربة لي مع الكاتب ، و هي تجربة رائعة عشت معه قصة عودته إلى رام الله
