I have no idea why it took me so long to finish this book. It’s actually quite nice and light and I do love a good Tolstoy. It’s funny how sometimes we think so much alike.

Youth ruined this for me. If I had only read Childhood and Boyhood, this would have been a 4 star rating.

Very evocative of F Scott Fitzgerald’s This Side of Paradise to me, in a good way (since I do love that book). I wish it had been properly finished, though I admit I disliked Tolstoy’s tangent on love and his characterization of women in love.
