This book was beautiful yet extremely slow moving. I have picked this up and put it back down more times than I can count over the past few years because the plot is so slow and honestly I lost interest for a while. But recently I picked it back up and committed to finishing it and it was definitely worth it. It’s beautifully tragic and well written, in my opinion. I won’t say it’s a quick read because of the aforementioned reasons but it’s heartbreaking & lovely nonetheless.

Ugh what a beautiful story. I’m usually not one for romance but the time travel/sci fi element got me hooked- and the entire first half of the book was so fascinating, I was eagerly waiting for Henry to show up each time right along with Clare.
The second half of the book didn’t get me as much (please stop describing the sex scenes & labor scenes in such detail) but I think this is timeless- I feel like I will read the second half differently when I enter that phase of my life- marriage, homeownership, kids, etc.

I did however think this was going to be more inspirational and about living in the moment, when it really just felt like a novel about two characters- not geared towards having the audience take away any inspiring quotes or anything like that.

Definitely a book I will read again- I’m curious to see how my perspective on certain topics and themes changes!
