I really enjoyed this book. Loved all the characters--such an original idea--great writing--great imagery...but. I didn't like the end. I hate spoilers so I'll say no more other than I wasn't expecting such tragedy.

I thought this book was so/so overall. Some parts were really good... but those were overshadowed by a lot of parts where I was like "Ok, seriously? Did I really need to waste time reading that?" When I think back on it, soooooo much was covered! Too much. Style-wise, she had some really good passages (but then a lot of stupid ones talking about random trivial details and explaining how to make paper and listing everything they ate and what bands are cool and such). It had me completely hooked, but I don't consider it great literature, it's not one of my favorites, and I wouldn't recommend it.
