For people who might just view Jane Austen as one of the most well-known Regency writers, don't think that keeps her from being absolutely hilarious. Yes, she had a tendency to use far too many commas and drag sentences on for paragraphs. But Sense and Sensibility is such a bouncy read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

"To wish was to hope, and to hope was to expect"

as per usual, we ask and Austen delivers. This, while I do think is one of her weaker works, was naturally, beautiful and witty.

The dynamic between Elinor and Marianne is so nice and lovely and i could probably spend an eternity reading about them.

I mean, all of the characters in general had so much depth to them. My favorite chapter was definitely chapter 47 when Elinor and Marianne reflect together and talk to each other of each others' behavior.

I only think this is one of Austens weaker works because it definitely is a bit more immature than her other works and definitely less witty.

Still good though!

Enjoyed the book but probably need to reread it given the way I listened to it: the first 40% or so I listened to as an audiobook but only every so often. By the time I buckled down and listened to it for longer stretches and at smaller intervals between listens, I'd missed or forgotten quite a bit. But once I committed to listening, I quite enjoyed it! Will probably have to read it again someday (or at least see the movie haha).
