I really liked this comic because it chronicles the time between Episode V and Episode VI and it was great to see what happened to Luke and Leia at this time. I liked the new characters introduced and how the story played out.

Good action scenes with no real stakes makes for a not-so-exciting story. Recommended if you want to know the secret origin of Luke's boots in RotJ.

Taking place immediately after EMPIRE and ending at start of RETURN means that no other adventures could take place in those years? That did not bother me then, but a little annoying now.

Story is still great. Glad I reread it.

Goodreads really needs to change from out of 5 stars to 10, because I feel like this deserves 2.5(or like a 4 on a 10 star scale). Anyways a friend of mine rated this 2 stars and I was shocked considering this is such a classic of the Legends continuity. Well turns out he was pretty accurate. It's not that this book is BAD it's just not amazing. Xizor is annoying, creepy and doesn't really do it for me at all, and that really drags the plot down because he's at the center. On top of that the short paragraphs, sections and jumps from character to character are extremely annoying. It's not a chapter cliffhanger when two paragraphs later it's back to that character. It's just an annoyance.

Excellent bridge from episode 5 to 6! Great adventure.

Rating/review copied from Goodreads. Read sometime in the early 2000s.

It was fun to read and tune in and hear some cool people dissect the story. Glad I decided to do this book club! Also omg the monologue of Darth Vader and Luke is what made this book so good.

Star Wars novel set between Empire and Jedi. Han is frozen in carbonite and the others try to save him. Complicating matters is Prince Xizor, an underworld leader who wants to replace Vader in the Emperor's favors. His solution--kill Luke. He uses Leia as bait. Vader pursues Luke as well in order to draw him to the Dark Side so they can rule the universe together. But it all works out in the end.
