This book was so funny and easily jumped into my favorite books of all time. I didn't realize it was two seperate books with the second being written in responce to fanfiction and the author hating it. Him name dropping authors and degrading their work was funny.

When I started reading Don Quixote, I found myself quite enjoying it, it was entertaining and I was interested in the plot. However, as the story progressed, I found myself struggling. It was repetitive and long winded. I don't usually have an issue with long books but I unfortunately found myself tiring of Don Quixote pretty quickly. I can appreciate the writing style, I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. I wasn't particularly endeared to any of the characters. I found Sancho the most bearable but even then, there were parts of the story I struggled to root for him. I will say the ending got to me a little, I wasn't expecting it and felt bad for Don Quixote, I actually thought he deserved to have a happy ending. Overall, I am glad I read Don Quixote and whilst I wouldn't necessarily say I enjoyed it, I can see why it's on a 'must-read' list five hundred years after its initial publication.

The ending was so sad. Like, I was not expecting that. And it comes about rather abruptly.
